How can i fix a candle someone has written in that i’m not planning on burning?

I had a friend over to my new house the other day and she was rude enough to write “hey” in a very expensive candle in my bathroom for decoration purposes. When I mentioned it to her she said, “When you burn it it will go away.” But the problem is… i’m not planning on burning the candle. It’s an expensive candle I bought at the beach last year because it matches my bathroom. Does anyone know how I can get rid of what she wrote without burning or ruining the candle?

You can melt the area she wrote in. This would be tricky however because it would drip so you would have to melt it slightly and reform the candle with your hands. ALso, if she did not write to deep into the candle, you can shave away the part she wrote. You would have to shave the entire candle to make it look even. This is also tricky. Maybe you should consider using it?

Heat the area where they marking is.. as it softens you should be able to erase the word…you didn’t say if she wrote it in ink or just carved it in .. but its shallow you should be able to move the wax around and make it disappear.

It depends. First of all, what a very rude thing to do. Apparently, she has no respect for your home. How large was it? Was it small or large? If it is around the bottom rim, you can get some potpurri and put it aroumd the base or just turn the candle around.

Flip the candle over and remove some of the wax from the base, then heat it in a spoon over a match like a heroin junkie (don’t let the kids see you or they’ll reprt you to the school) then use a paper clip and roll it into the wax to coat it, then heat the paper clip behind the wax to drip it directly into the areas you need to fill.. after it is done use a WARM table spoon to smooth the area over…that’s what I’d try.

Melt abother candle the same color ,then drip one drop at a time into the damaged area while rubbing the hot wax with papper or cloth wrapped around your finger..

Try a blow dryer and a hot butter knife.

try a hair dryer on high, don’t hold it too close to the candle, as you don’t want a big pool of wax. concentrate on the writing first then when that melts widen out to blend. next, get a new friend! just kidding, good luck, happy holidays!

You could also use the pointed end of a clothes iron set on medium-low heat, or even a wood-burning tool. It’s going to be a bit tricky, and you didn’t say just how elaborate that candle is. Once you have the lines closed and the scratching as pretty well fixed as possible, you can either buff the whole thing with an old nylon stocking, or hold it over a heat source, just long enough to make the surface shiny (slightly melted). Get it away from the heat quickly, and let it cool. The surface should have run together and taken on a smooth shine, if done right. Candle work, like many other crafts, is a learned art. It may take a little experimenting, and you might want to scratch another, old, candle to experiment with before tackling the good one.
